Kanade is the oldest and leader (king) of Seventh Heaven. An Ore-sama do-S tsundere type of personality. He keep a crow with red ribbon as a pet. Other shinigami usually avoiding Kanade and even afraid of him. From other drama cd it known that he loves playing tricks on other shinigami. His song’s title is “Never Ever”.

The story started on a night when you was going to suicide inside a lily’s garden. Suddenly a man appeared before you. He introduced himself as Kanade, a part of Seventh Heaven who can send dead person’s soul with their song. Teasingly, he told you that he interrupted so you couldn’t reach the garden. Because you have a pretty soul, it’s a waste to let you die that fast. Instead, Kanade told you to follow him, as he will give you a painless died.
“Kuku, welcome to Hiiragi’s Mansion”
After you going inside the mansion, Kanade told you that he is the master of this place, so the mansion can change as he pleased, like he did before when interrupted you. He also told you a fact; after met him, you can only die by Kanade’s song otherwise, you’ll become a lost soul that have no peace even after died. You understand the meaning, right? If you want to die peacefully then you have to do your best to please him.
Kanade then told you to sit on the sofa, and you obey him out of fear. Kanade seems happy, though, as he wants you to fear him even more. Kanade was in mood for a game, and now he wants to…. destroy you. Which part of you should he destroy? Destroying soul first will be boring, so what if he did the body first? Seeing you trembling in fear, he laughed happily. He stopped midway, though. As his real intention was only to see your face in fear.
He then told you to do a better game instead; a chess. Just, it’s not a normal chess. Kanade told you that the chess piece is a soul, that means whenever a piece broken or defeated, a human died. A wonderful game, isn’t it? He even break one piece on purpose.
“Yes, one human just died. Haha! Now, let’s begin the game!!”
Of course you didn’t want to do the game, didn’t dare to told Kanade that you can only sit still without doing any movement. Knowing your thought, Kanade break one piece after another, happily laughing that one by one human died because you didn’t do what he told you. Unable to resist the fear anymore, you run away. Kanade let you go easily, as there is no way for you to exit the mansion again. Rather than chasing you, thinking a proper punishment is better.
Several hours later, you go back to Kanade’s place, as you couldn’t find any exit. Kanade told you that he already warned that you can’t run away, not after you stepped into this mansion and meet a shinigami like him. Now, he should teach your body what will happen when you disobey him…. he started to touch you.
“What is the feeling of being tainted before you die?”
He stopped halfway because suddenly his crow appear. Kanade then left you, saying that he need to taking care of the other shinigami. Before left the room, he told you that you should come to his room in rainy night, he hates waiting so you have to remember that……
One rainy night, you were asleep when Kanade suddenly enter your room. In pissed voice, he asked you if you forgot what he told you before. Tonight is rain, why you didn’t come? Kanade was act strangely, that you got afraid and ran away. He got you easily and pin you on the wall. Yes, you should afraid him, and understand that you can’t disobey him.
Kanade was willing to give you another chance; let him hug you. His voice a bit weak, but he told you to stay still. He then talking about his familiar, a crow. The crow was a good one, he has many information. Actually, the crow also knew many things about you. Like your first love, for example. Or the words that can make you embarrassed or being hurts.
Kanade’s action was so strange that you asked him. He answered that maybe, he hates the sound of rain. Rain is sounded like the voice of soul’s crying. He told her before that shinigami can’t feel anything, but actually there is only one thing they can feel; the soul’s warmth. The last warmth a living being left when they left this world. Kanade was laughing sadly, what a fool he is. Suddenly a thunder startled him. He hugged you tighter, told you to stay with him.
Next morning, Kanade was back to his usual way. He woke you with his harsh words. However, you was worried about him last night that you asked his condition. This shocked him, and in irritated voice he told you to not said foolish words before left the room. However you hold his hands, told Kanade to not leave yet.
“What are you doing? Who said you can hold my hand?”
When you told Kanade that you were worrying him, he asked if you didn’t fear of him. You said that now, you aren’t afraid. Not believing your words, Kanade said there is no way you aren’t fear him, even the other Seventh Heaven afraid of him. Then, he asked, what is your intention? By pretending to open your heart to him do you wish to stay alive? That kind of woman….. is the one Kanade want to kill the most. If he killed you not with his song, you’ll become a lost soul forever. However you didn’t affected with his words, and look straight into Kanade’s eyes.
“Pfft…. Hahaha!! You really is a strange girl, huh?”
Unlike his evil laughs before, Kanade was laughing. He didn’t hate a straight girl like you. As a reward for amusing him, Kanade told you something good. The chess from yesterday, he lied when he said that one defeated piece will kill a human. That was a normal chess, human’s soul is not that fragile to be lost by only a chess’ piece. Looking at your expression, Kanade laughed even more. His scary aura completely disappeared.
“Don’t be angry, I have a good reason to lied, that is….. because I wanted to, hahaha!!!”
Kanade thanked you for being deceived. He wanted to deceive and scare you more but it’s hard to keep the scary aura. Kanade begged you to be deceived again, which you rejected instantly, this only make him laughed louder. You really is interesting, so Kanade decided to invite you to his room.
He asked you if it’s the first time you got invitation to someone’s private room. It’s a special invitation, after all. There, he talked about other shinigami who live in the mansion. He like everyone of them, the other Seventh Heaven are good child. Kanade make sure they know what they are. And to whom they should obey, he added with a little laugh. Still, Kanade has his own complaints. Akira sometimes play poker with Mint but never invite Kanade. Mint is a good man, but too boring. So Kanade sometime doing prank on them. Not too bad, he said, only giving a bit thrilling time. Shion and Yuuri unexpectedly match each other, they usually bullying Hinata together like human usually do.Then Kanade said that he decided how he will make you happy. With a low voice, he kissed you.
“Hey, let me see the other parts of you….. come here”
Their romantic time interrupted by Kanade’s crow. The crow jealous of you. Kanade chased him out, telling the crow that now he wanted to be with you. The mood was ruined, but Kanade said it’s alright, because usually the crow is faithful and handy, it even told Kanade about “him”.
You asked who is “he”. Slowly, Kanade said that “he” is a part of Seventh Heaven, who secretly tried to save a human that fated to die. “His” action is a rule violation not to mention it’s impossible, so Kanade punished “him”. Kanade had to show what is the meaning of trying to break the rule. Human will die, that is this world’s rule. Protecting the rule is the duty of the master of Hiiragi’s mansion, Kanade’s duty that he has to to no matter what.
“That’s right…… even if my own comrade hate me……”
Kanade tried to stay tough, but you can feel his sadness. Kanade hugged you again. But your time with him is almost ended….. the sound of bell was heard, it’s time for your departure from this world.
*bell tolls*
”Hey….. until now I already took many lives, without exception. Even to my comrades. Maybe I’ll do it forever so….. I have to let you die…..”
Tonight is a fullmoon, a pretty one. In stern voice, Kanade told you if you ready. He let out your soul, a beautiful soul. You hold Kanade’s hand. He asked you if you try to let him feel your warmth. But, you can’t do that. His hands were only to feel dead. Even so, you still didn’t let go of Kanade. This broke off his defense. Kanade hold you tightly, and gave you kisses. As the bells sound got louder, half-crying, Kanade started his song…..
“Eternity only brings pain”
”I’ll give you everything I feel now”
”I want to live with you…..”
”I love you”
”Good bye, my only love. I won’t forget you….”
”A never ending love, in this eternity”
After you departed, rain started pouring. It the sound of rain that Kanade always hate, but it’s the first time he thought the sound this painful. The world still exist even after you die, like nothing happened. Even so, the proof of your life won’t disappear. Your soul is not disappeared, they exist in the memories of the people you knew.
“I’m glad I meet you. I’m sorry…. thank you…… and good bye”
Conclusion:
As I (and many other Seventh Heaven fans) thought, Rejet…… they really make Kanade as an evil man in previous cd (especially in Itsuki’s) then show his good side, the reason of his action and make the listeners crying over his pain. At first, I really HATE Kanade, for Itsuki’s sake, but of course now I can only pitying him. I hope he have fun with other shinigami in tokuten cd, he deserve that >_<.
Itsuki’s main problem is like Hinata’s, he curse his own eternal life, and hated his job. Unlike Hinata, he is Seventh Heaven’s leader so he has to maintain the order and rule, even if he has to be hated by others. He has to play the bad role, though he actually care about other shinigami. You can hear as he talk about Akira and the others, Kanade look cheerful yet a bit sad because he couldn’t mix with them. Sometimes he enjoyed doing little prank here and there, but in Itsuki’s case it’s definitely not for enjoyment, he has to punish Itsuki even though he knew that Itsuki will hate him *cry again*.
He really hoped that you and him can meet in different circumstance, with him unbounded by his eternity. Too bad that he knew so well that his wish is can never be fulfilled, that’s why Kanade choose to engrave memories about you in his heart, so the pain will make him remember you always. In the rainy night he hates so much, Kanade has to lost the only person he loved…….
