"Time is China around Three Kingdoms era. There are clan called "Maozoku" (lit: Cat People). Because their cat ears, they were despised by human who thought them as descendants of Cat Demon Kinme and given them another name "Jyuuza" as a mock of thirteenth zodiac. To avoid conflicts, Maozoku lives secluded far from from anywhere. Their peaceful days ended when an army infiltrate their village in search for Yellow Scarf Rebels. Though the Maozoku have no idea about those rebels, the army leader Sousou forced them to choose: be annihilated for hiding rebels, or work under him to destroy the Yellow Scarves -thus proof their innocence. Having no choice, the Maozoku left their village to work under the humans that hate and discriminate their clan."
