Higashino High School maybe looks like a normal school with many horror stories, but unknown by humans, at night it becomes a school for ayakashi. Suzue Shizuka is one of the ayakashi students, and the most troublesome one. Being a strong ayakashi, she has to use her power frequently or the too strong power will make her berserk. To prevent that, every night she and her bestfriend Shikibu Hisoka playing pranks to disciplinary committee president Hibiya Kyougoku. After being in high school for decades, little by little Shizuka become intimate with one of the character…….

Character:
Suzue Shizuka (Name changeable): A descendant of Isohime (a sea demon), and the third strongest ayakashi in school. She is in second grade. Born from darkness, she doesn’t have family or home, so she usually sleeping in school’s swimming pool. With Hisoka, the two of them famous as “Problem Maker Duo” . Loves prank and fight, only few can fight equally with her. Although she is an Isohime, she couldn’t swim. 
Shikibu Hisoka (CV Midorikawa Hikaru): A descendant of Isonade (Beach Stroker) and Shinigami (God of Death). Shizuka best friend and classmate. In case of cursing skill, he is number one in school. Always smiling and not even Shizuka knows what actually he is thinking. He also loves prank, although his said pranks are rather cruel.
Hibiya Kyougoku (CV Yusa Kouji): Higashino High School Disciplinary Committee President and the strongest ayakashi in school. Actually he was a human until he got Kamikakushi (Spirited away) three years ago. Because he was a human, he still has human scent that other students think “delicious”. A third grade student. An opposite of Hisoka, he is a serious student who won’t let any rule breaker without punishment. Because of that Shizuka loves to make pranks on him.
Yuurajou Keigo (CV Namikawa Daisuke): Shizuka’s classmate, and descendant of Mountain Dog’s spirit. He has a secret crush to Shizuka…. Or at least that is what he thought, actually his act is so bad that everyone know it LOL. Because Shizuka got in many fights, she get injured almost everyday so Keigo become a health committee to be closer to her. He has family with five siblings.
Toono Atsurou: Shizuka’s classmate and a Banchou-like figure. He is a descendant of Oni (demon). Because of his oni’s blood, he is very strong that only Shizuka can match him in fight. Despite his scary look, he is a movie and animal lover.
Izumi Reiji (CV Toriumi Kousuke): A descendant of fox spirit and Keigo’s childhood friend. Despite being a first grader, he is the second stronger ayakashi in school. He has a bad mouth (aka Tsundere) and weak physical power that he got knocked out when accidentally involved with Atsurou and Shizuka fight. Like Keigo, he also has a family.
Tobiura Moegi (CV Yoshino Hiroyuki): Kyougoku’s classmate and a descendant of Tengu. His (bad) hobby is observing people misfortune and collecting uchiwa (japanese fan). Know Hisoka from before he meet Shizuka. Moegi seems to be interested in Shizuka.
Hibiya Mitsugu (CV Hino Satoshi): A third grade student in Higashino day school. A human and Kyougoku’s younger brother. He is three years younger than Kyougoku but since he stopped aging now they are same age. Ever since his brother suddenly disappeared, he always searching for him.
Nishibatake Wakako (CV Gotou Saori): Shizuka’s classmate and her girl best friend. Love Shizuka a bit too much than normal friendship and hate every men near Shizuka. She is a Rokurokubi (long neck woman), but instead having a long neck she can remove her head from body, that scare even other ayakashi. She only wants to date a man whose neck is longer than her (more than 5 meters lol).
Positive:
1. Well, it is QR, so you can expect a great and strong heroine who is not a doormat. Shizuka is a heroine that strong mentally and physically (hey, she always fight with strongest men in school!!) but can be so “otome” when needed ;).
2. Great characterization, QR character always so unique. The setting and character are built well.
3. Good story with VERY GOOD ENDING. Serious, one that make me think this is the best game in 2012 is the true end. I don’t know how to tell without spoiling, but the impact I got after finishing the true end is priceless.
4. This game is a good mixing of humour-romance (of course)-mystery-fantasy that blend so well. So for the fans of those genres should try this game :D
Negative:
1. Not too short, but I want more >_<!! Thank god the sequel will be released soon.
2. I don’t know what the point of provide mini games -_-. It not needed in the story so they better give a soundtrack gallery or whatever.
3. No automatic skip system, so you have to press R button continuously whenever skipping. (Thank god they add a “jump to next choice” system in their next games).
4. Shizuka’s sprites have so few costumes. In some scenes, she actually wore a yukata in CG but the sprite shows her with normal cloth -_-. And one of the flashback also very strange with her usual sprites.
Conclusion:
BEST OTOGE IN 2012. This is the first game that I replayed (I replayed three times!!). All because I really love the story. There are character(s) that I hate but at the same time I love him *sigh*. If you plan to play this, save Hisoka and Kyogoku for the end, because their route are the “true” ones. But it not means that the other three are only additional characters. The strength of Ouma ga Toki is playing routes one by one, got a hint here or there and then see the true end at last.
So, enjoy dating the ayakashi ;)!!
